AI Credits pay for the AI work you use in Pictory 3, including creating videos with the Agent, making AI edits, generating images and clips, and recording premium voiceover. These actions draw from the same balance. You can check that balance and review individual charges from the credits button at the top of Pictory.
What uses AI Credits
The amount depends on the work performed. Video length, generated visuals, narration and the changes you request can all affect the total. The final charge reflects the work actually completed.
Creating an Agent video. The first successful preview combines the Agent work needed to create it, including script generation, document or URL processing, generated visuals and a one-time project infrastructure charge. Premium ElevenLabs narration is billed once, on its own Premium voiceover entry.
Revising a video through chat. After the first preview, further Agent changes are charged separately. You pay for the work involved in the change, rather than paying again for unchanged scenes.
Using AI in the scene editor. Requests that change a scene through the editor chat use credits. A request that produces no scene change is not charged.
Generating media. AI Studio images and video clips, slide animations and avatars keep their applicable credit charges. The amount depends on the model and generation settings.
Processing an uploaded video. Edit video using text, summaries and clips use a flat 1 credit per uploaded video, charged when transcription succeeds. Transcript edits, summaries and clip selection do not add separate charges in that workflow. Additional paid AI tools still use credits.
Typing or formatting text, moving layers and other manual editor adjustments do not carry an Agent editing charge. If an adjustment requires new premium narration or generated media, that AI work is charged separately.

Check your balance and usage history
Select the AI Credits button at the top of Pictory. Its number is your remaining balance.
Open the popover to see used and total credits. In a team, these figures describe the shared team balance.
Select Usage history to review credit additions and deductions. Entries identify the type of work, such as Video preview generation, Agent revision, Scene editor agent, Premium voiceover or Raw video editing.
The balance updates after a charge completes. Credits can be fractional, so a deduction or remaining balance may include decimal places. If a figure looks unexpected, check the history after the operation finishes.
Credits included with your plan
Pictory 3 plans include the following AI Credits. Annual plans provide the full yearly amount upfront at purchase and renewal.
Plan | Monthly plan | Annual plan |
Free trial | 300 for the trial | Not applicable |
Starter | 2,000 per month | 24,000 per year |
Professional | 6,000 per month | 72,000 per year |
Teams | 6,000 per seat per month | 72,000 per seat per year |
Enterprise | Custom | Custom |
For example, a three-seat Teams plan provides a shared pool of 18,000 credits per month or 216,000 credits upfront on an annual plan. Check your Subscription page for the allowance attached to your account.
Video-minute figures advertised with a plan are estimates of what its credits may produce. They are not a separate video-minute balance. Using more generated media, premium narration or AI revisions can reduce the amount of video you make with the same credits.
Renewal and rollover
Monthly plan credits are added on your subscription renewal date. Annual plan credits are added for the full year at annual purchase or renewal. They are not a new full-year grant every month.
Unused credits roll over while you keep an active paid subscription. This includes unused plan credits, recurring add-on credit packs and one-time credit purchases. A one-time purchase does not extend your subscription. Review your balance and subscription terms before canceling.
Trial credits do not refresh. When the free trial expires, its credits become zero. Choose a paid plan to continue.
Buy more AI Credits
With an active paid plan, select Buy credits from the credits popover or your Subscription page. You can also open the purchase flow when a credit shortfall warning appears in the Agent or editor.
Choose a recurring add-on or a one-time purchase.
Choose the number of packs. You can select 1 to 10 packs per purchase.
Review the credits, price and billing details, then complete the checkout.
Purchase type | Credits and USD price per pack |
One-time purchase | 1,000 credits for $25, purchased once |
Monthly recurring add-on | 1,000 credits for $25 per month |
Annual recurring add-on | 12,000 credits for $300 per year |
Recurring add-ons follow your plan billing cycle. The annual add-on represents 1,000 credits per month, with the yearly allowance provided upfront. Review checkout for any adjustment when adding it partway through a billing cycle. One-time packs do not renew automatically.
Free-trial and expired accounts need to choose a paid plan before buying extra credits. In a team, only the team owner can purchase credits or change the subscription. Other members should ask the owner to add credits.
When credits run low or run out
Pictory warns you when credits are running low. If an AI action cannot proceed, use the message in that flow to buy credits or choose a plan. Your saved project remains available.
Generating a final non-avatar video does not add a separate rendering charge. You still need a positive credit balance to generate a video. But any premium voiceover that needs to be regenerated must also be covered by your credit balance. At zero or a negative balance, add credits or choose a plan before continuing. Avatar rendering keeps its own charges.
After checkout, return to your project to continue. If generation has not started, select Generate video again.
Failed / Cancelled actions and unexpected charges
Failed Actions or cancelled actions do not charge any AI Credits.
For a missing purchase or a charge you do not recognize, contact support with the project name, time of the action and the relevant credit-history entry. For a team account, also include the team name.
Does this change Pictory 2 billing
This article describes the AI Credits system in Pictory 3. Existing Pictory 2 and API accounts keep their current billing during the initial Pictory 3 rollout. If your account still shows separate voice or video allowances, follow the subscription details shown in that account.
